Detection of Crime Branch (DCB) busted a fake marksheet scam on Friday and arrested one person from Suncity Paradise Bungalows near Vishwamitri Township. Girish Shah was arrested and produced before a local court that remanded him to seven days of police custody. According to the crime branch, Shah, 40, used to print fake marksheets of several universities and schools and sell them to the needy.

He had developed mastery in preparing fake marksheets complete with the institute’s logo. “We have seized some sample marksheets of IIT and rubber stamps of several schools, educational institutes and universities from Shah’s place. We have also got some phone numbers from his mobile phone,” said DCB police inspector, Jatin Prajapati, adding that the accused had passed just HSC.
