AG: Man used fake diploma to get health care job

Authorities arrested the director of an adult day care facility in Baton Rouge after they got a tip he’d used a fake degree to get his job, according to the state Attorney General’s Office.

On Tuesday constables in Baton Rouge arrested Lee Earl Williams, Jr., 49, in suspicion of forgery, Medicaid fraud, and filing false public records.

The Attorney General’s Office said a tip came in that Williams used a forged college diploma to get his job as director of an adult day care facility, which led their Medicaid Fraud Unit to begin investigating. Medicaid rules require adult day care directors have a bachelor’s degree.
