KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) Tuesday rejected the plea filed against the alleged poll rigging and fake degree of Murtaza Jatoi, a candidate from the National Assembly constituency NA-211 in 2008 election, Geo News reported.
An election tribunal chaired by Justice Nisar Ahmed Shaikh had reserved the decision on March 13, 2013 over a petition moved by the Pakistan Peoples Party’s Zulfiqar Behen. Zulfiqar Behen in 2008 accused National Peoples Party’s (NPP) leader Murtaza Jatoi of possessing fake degree and rigging polling process.
The Sindh University and Elections Commission of Pakistan (ECP) scrutinized the ballot papers and educational record of Jatoi. The court took a long period of five years to make the decision due to various reasons.
