The district and sessions judge on Tuesday awarded three and five years sentences to former members of national and provincial assemblies for not appearing in court despite repeated summons.
Former MNA Rasheed Akbar Nawani and ex-MPA Saeed Akbar Nawani had been served several notices to appear in the district and sessions court in a fake degree case. However, both did not appear in court in person or through their counsels after which the judge on Tuesday awarded three-year sentence to Rasheed Akbar Nawani and five-year imprisonment to Saeed Akbar Nawani.
