Police: Teen used fake documents to get credit at Promenade Shops to buy iPhones

An Allentown teen planning to buy several iPhones used fake identification Tuesday in a bid to obtain credit at a Verizon Wireless store in the Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley, according to court records.

Alondra Cordero, 19, allegedly gave a fake passport identification card and Social Security card to apply for credit at the store, 2860 Center Valley Parkway. She was trying to buy five iPhone 6s worth $3,300, Upper Saucon police said.


Police were dispatched at 4:26 p.m. and questioned Cordero, who gave them a fake name, according to court records. She eventually admitted she used fake documents, given to her by an unidentified person, and they were going to sell the phones and split the money, police said.

Cordero, of North Madison Street, was charged with attempted theft by deception, false identification and theft by deception. She was arraigned by District Judge Karen Devine and released after posting $10,000 bail.
