Task Force sleuths arrested two persons on Monday for fabricating education certificates at Kanchanbagh and Santoshnagar.
Police arrested Qutubuddin Khan, the owner of a photocopy centre, and Abdul Khadeer, a private tutor. Acting on a tip-off, the Task Force team arrested Abdul Khadeer at My Friends Hotel at Kanchanbagh and seized several fake mark sheets for various courses affiliated to Osmania University, and also fake memos for SSC and Board of Intermediate.
Based on the information given by Khadeer, police arrested Khan from his house at Santoshnagar and seized 61 fake degree certificates of Osmania University, University of Allahabad, Magadh University, Vinayaka Missions University, Bundelkhand University and State Board of Technical Education, Bihar. They also seized a desktop, a colour printer-cum-scanner, 30 fake stamps of various universities from the culprits.
“The gang used to charge Rs 25,000 for each fake certificate,” said Task Force additional deputy commissioner of police N Koti Reddy.
