The South African Council for Educators (Sace) raised concerns with MPs yesterday about students who try to sign up with the organisation using fake or fraudulent qualifications.

There was a particular problem with students from Walter Sisulu University and Unisa. Sace’s mission is to ensure that teachers are registered with it in the interests of professionalism in the education sector.
