An agent who was recently arrested by the police for preparing bogus documents for a passport applicant has revealed that he had a large clientele and that he had made duplicate documents for various purposes.
Bhupesh Surti, the arrested agent, operated out of Malwani. A passport applicant, Soumitro Chakraborty, was also arrested.
“We seized Surti’s computer, which has a list of all his clients. So far, he has made fake documents for applying for a job, for procuring a bank loan, to obtain a ration card and to apply for a passport. The fakes bear close resemblance to the originals and distinguishing the two is difficult. We will now be tracking down each one of his clients and quizzing them all,” an officer from the Charkop police station said.
