This is with reference to lead news’PIA removes 300 employees for fake degrees’ (April 05), deserves appreciation for removing employees with fake degrees, but PIA is not the only organisation in the country where fake degree holders managed to get jobs therefore in the name of justice and fairplay this exercise must be carried out above board in all other government organisations, semi government and corporations.
A proper SOP must be established that should cater for immediate verification of his credentials and this must be completed with in shortest possible time. In this advance era of high technology it should pose no problem on the appointing authority. In case of fake documents the people must be punished so that it serves deterrent for others. Fake degree holders not only deprive the right candidates from jobs but it also attracts provision of human rights violations.
Since majority of the employees got jobs due to political pressure therefore for a change there should be no compromises and politicking on this issue. Keeping in view high rate of un employment it would be appropriate to induct people who yield no influence and have remained in the waiting list for years. PIA has taken the lead, it is hoped other organisations shall follow the suit to ensure implementation of Supreme Court orders in in true letter and spirit.
