Bokaro deputy commissioner U S Singh on Tuesday dismissed six lab technicians and radiographers – including two women – of the district health department after finding that they submitted
fake certificates to get jobs. This was the second such incident in health department when candidates got selected submitting
forged documents.
A few officials of the health department are under scanner for ignoring or facilitating such unlawful practices in the recruitment process, sources said.
The six persons against whom dismissal order has been passed by DC were identified as Mohan Kumar, Jitender Prasad, Om Prakash Ram, Ranju Kumari, Ruby Rani and Sanjay Kumar. While Kumar was appointed as radiographer, the rest of them were recruited as lab technicians.
“I have directed the officials concerned to dismiss six staff of the health department. It was found that they had submitted
fake certificates related to their technical qualification or training to get the job. They not only got the government job by unfair means, but also enjoyed salary.
We are also trying to identify whether there was connivance of any officials or staff in the scam,” said Singh.
The matter in this connection came to fore in 2011 after recruitment process for the post of lab technician and radiographer got completed. The first allegation was leveled against Ranju, who was deployed in Gomia Primary Health Centre.
When the then civil surgeon tried to inquire with Ranju, she avoided appearing before him. Later the matter went to court, where Ranju disclosed that others were also being recruited by submitting fake certificates.
This made the health department and the district administration take action and a detailed probe was conducted. Another such case was busted a couple of weeks ago, when the DC had found negligence in recruitment of a person in the post of coordinator in the tuberculosis department. The person to get the job had submitted fake experience certificate of a private hospital in Dhanbad.
