Delhi University lately came out with a warning as well as caution to prevent students getting trapped in taking help from touts/agents for acquiring seat during admission procedure in the varsity.
The university also warned applicants to not submit any kind of fake certificate, mark-sheet or any other duplicate document during admission process as it will surely lead to cancellation of the name in the course, even during the middle of the academic year followed by a police complaint. Upon confirmation of fake caste certificate or false mark-sheets the student will be dismissed from the university and a legal action may be taken against him/her, told DU authorities.
The University became cautious evermore, since each year at least one college under the Delhi University come across the case of fake certificates, submitted to them by students during admission process.
The most popular fake documents are seen to be Caste certificates, mark-sheets and even the Sports and Extra Curricular Activities certificates. Hence, all the documents will be subject to scrutiny meticulously.
Those candidates who will be at fault, their admission will be sacked in the middle of proggrame, and will also get FIR lodged against the candidate in police station.
Upon being questioned, the parents of the guilty candidates told that the agents/touts who came to them and gave assurance to offer their ward a seat under management quota deceived them. The touts got them admission seat based on fake certificates, as told by Shaheed Bhagat Singh College principal P.K. Khurana.
The Principal told that in DU there is no provision of management quota seats.
Many students who were admitted under the first session of the four-year undergraduate programme but found guilty of producing fake certificate have been dismissed from continuing the course further in the varsity. They also have FIR lodged against them with the police.
Two years ago, the Ramjas College in DU’s North campus also scandalously came across fake admission scams and several cases. The college was forced to shell out near about Rs 7 lakh rupees to hire forensic experts to inspect the document’s authenticity in a special laboratory specially set up for the purpose.
To become more vigilant, this admission season onward the staff of the college will receive the training by experts to hunt down the fake certificates by checking the logos, background details, the ink and the feel of the paper among other different things. Besides, to make the inspection foolproof the mark-sheets submitted by candidates will also be crosschecked electronically, with the information that is provided by different Boards.
The University endeavors to make students cautious and beware of the touts roaming in the campus during admission season. The Dean Students’ Welfare office told that touts/agents may look very well-groomed and will approach the targeted aspirants in the campus with an excuse to offering their forms for them and will also ask to look at their documents.
Hence, it has been advised to all students to not handover or show certificates or documents to any stranger or believes anyone who says they can get you a seat, because it is just not possible anymore after the admission process becoming more transparent year-by-year, said authorities.
