A builder, held for duping an elderly woman, was presented before court and cops got a PCR of three days for him. The builder has been identified as Prashant Bagaddeo.
Police Sources said Arti Ashok Gore (60), a resident of Dattawadi, had lodged a complaint with Wadi police that he had been duped by a builder. Cops had registered the case under Section 420 of the IPC and started their investigation. After investigating the case, police finally arrested Prashant on September 18 and presented him before court. He received a police remand of three days.
Police informed that Aarti bought a plot under Prashant’s Gajanan Prasad Society sometime back. However, the plot that was sold to Aarti was already under someone else’s name and Prashant had resold the plot to Aarti. PI Gaikwad informed that Prashant owns Gajanan Prasad Society and has 180 plots under its name.
However, Prashant allegedly resold the plots that were remaining vacated even after being bought. Prashant used to resell such plots by presenting forged documents. One such plot was sold to Aarti but she lodged a complaint against Prashant as soon as she realised the fraud.
Interestingly, police revealed that Prashant has duped eight others with such tricks. Further investigations are on.
