Two held for making fake currency

An FIA team Thursday raided a printing press in Bhati Gate area and recovered fake local and foreign currency worth millions of rupees, fake visas, degrees and other fake documents.

According to sources, the raid was conducted by a team of FIA led by Assistant Director Asif Ali Mian. Two accused Nadeem and Asif were arrested. A case was registered against them.

Later, FIA Director Usman Anwar told the media that the accused were involved in printing fake documents, fake currency, fake degrees of Punjab University, fake forms of Bahria Town Housing Scheme, stamps, fake visas and passports.

Fake dollars, visa stickers of Canada and other countries, letter heads of home department, fake arms licence and car registration books were also recovered from their possession, Usman said, adding holographic printing facility and related equipment was also seized.
