Fake degree racket busted in Agra, two held

Two persons were held here for their alleged involvement in a fake degree racket in Dr BR Ambedkar University here, police said today.

Manoj Tiwari, principal of Shanti Devi College, Mainpuri and his accomplice Brijesh Baghel were arrested yesterday from Tiwari’s residence, Inspector Arjun Singh said.

Fake mark sheets of BA, MA and B.Ed along with a laptop containing information pertaining to fake mark sheets were also seized from them, he said.

“The accused admitted of being involved into the crime for around fifteen years and having cheated around 300 students so far by making fake degrees available to them,” Singh said.

He also revealed names of few others who were allegedly involved in the racket, Singh said adding, efforts are on to nab them.
