Missoula County sheriff warns of scam involving fake court documents

Missoula County District Court officials reported that they were contacted by a woman inquiring about a notice to appear in court that was sent to her by email. The woman explained that the notice ordered her to “bring all documents” and stated that she “must appear for court.” The notice was signed “Evie Tailor, Clerk of Court.”

The Missoula County Sheriff’s Office and Civil Department does not issue legal documents by email. If you have received an email like this, it did not come from any Missoula County court and is spam. Do not remit any money or documents requested.
