This refers to a news item published in your esteemed newspaper on 18th September, 2014 under captioned “CAA issues notices to 52 officials with fake degrees” by Noor Aftab.

Officials with fake degrees

CAA further clarifies that the designations of above mentioned officers are not included in the list of CAA employees whose degrees could not get verified from their respective boards/ universities. We also request you to also get the viewpoint of PCAA prior to publication of any news related to CAA.

Noor Aftab adds: It was clearly mentioned in the news story that names of all these officials were not included in the list of those 52 officials who have been issued show cause notices. A senior official of CAA himself said that issuance of 52 show cause notices is just first step and they would complete the process till end of this year. I have confirmed from number of sources that CAA would scrutinize educational degrees of some 1,600 employees but despite that I avoided jumping to any conclusion because the official declined to confirm the figure. I contacted DG CAA Air Marshal (r) Muhammad Yousaf, Principal Staff Officer Squadron Leader (r) Javed and Chief Human Resource Officer Sumair Saeed and discussed the issue in detail before filing this news story.
