42 held with fake documents during Army hiring rally in Jaipur

Forty-two youths were arrested in Bundi for using fraudulent documents to get themselves recruited in the Army.

A majority of these candidates are from Uttar Pradesh and had acquired documents like character certificate and domicile certificate fraudulently. The army’s intelligence unit had tipped off the police about these candidates when they came to know about the fraud.

According to the police, these candidates got the certificates from a gang, after each of them paid Rs 1,000-2,000. The police also suspect that the gang members had taken money from the candidates for recruitment also.The Special Operations Group (SOG) has also begun an investigation suspecting involvement of an interstate gang. The agents who provided certificates to the candidates are said to be active in Kota and Uttar Pradesh’s Firozabad. The army intelligence unit in Kota informed the police on Saturday evening that some students had been caught using fraudulent documents during the army recruitment rally in Bundi. A police team was rushed to the spot.


“We found that these candidates had prepared fake documents. Most of these students are from Firozabad and Agra. While all the domicile certificates were attested by tehsildar of Ladpura in Kota, the character certificates were authenticated by Kota municipal councilors,” said a police officer.

The officer said that while the marksheets of Class 10 and 12 were from Uttar Pradesh, the candidates had mentioned their address as Jawahar Nagar in Kota. The marital status certificates were also issued from Kota.

Tejraj Singh, SP, Bundi, said that all these students have been booked for fraud and other relevant sections of the IPC. A team has been sent to Ladpura to investigate the case further.

Additional SP, Special Operations Group, Rajan Dushyant also questioned the students. A police officer said that the gang involved in providing fake documents to these candidates is active in Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.
