The matter came to fore when the accused on the basis of fake documents approached a property dealer, who was an acquaintance of SDM. Subsequently, the matter was reported to police and retired SDM Hari Shankar Rawat registered a case of forgery against four accused on Thursday.

On December 24 last year, Rawat, a resident of E2-11 Arera Colony, came to know through his friend that few people were trying to sell his bungalow worth crores of rupees. Rawat managed to get a copy of fake power of attorney through his friend and went to registrar’s office.

Police said it came to fore during investigations that power of attorney was made on name of one Ashok Singh. But when police went to the address mentioned in documents, they did not found anyone.Further probe into the matter revealed that Satyabhan Singh Parihar got the documents forged through an advocate Narendra Singh while two other persons Prathiviraj Sharma and Santosh Sharma appeared as witnesses.

All four have been made accused in the case, the police said, adding more people could be involved in the fraud.
