Federal agents arrest man for selling fake IDs

Federal agents have arrested a man for selling fraudulent documents.

Homeland Security Investigations agents arrested Juan Cruz on Wednesday during sting operation in McAllen, according to federal court records.

Cruz sold an undercover agent four sets of fraudulent documents, according to the criminal complaint against him.

Each set of fraudulent documents included a legal permanent resident card, a Social Security card and a Texas identification card.


Cruz said he expected $800 for all 12 documents, according to the criminal complaint.

Agents charged Cruz with knowingly possessing with intent to use or transfer five or more false identification documents.

Court is a United States citizen who was born in 1977, according to court records, which don’t list his hometown or age.

Homeland Security Investigation is a division of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
